Oodle Juiced!

As of this week I have been unable post hyperlinks of any type within my oodle.com listings. I wish these classified people would make up their minds. Last week I posted 3 ads in one hour.

Ad 1: link works

Ad 2: links don’t work

Ad 3: links work but they are nofollow

Geez.

Oodle, I love you, but you are as fickly as my 7th grade flame.

Craigslist, Oodle and the like. What is the purpose you might ask?  Here are a few ways classified ads are helping my SEO clients.

1. Links - Most of these classified sites allow links to your site in their “services” section. While these links are not permanent, they do count and you are in control of the anchor text.

2. Ad response - People who view the ads could: click to contact the advertiser, call the phone number in the ad or click to view the website.

3. Exposure - Because most of the big boys have multiple cities, we advertise different keywords in...
